Get several clear disposable cups and fill each cup with root bear. Next you will need to go over liquids. The students should be able to tell us that the liquids don’t have a definite shape, take the shape of the container that they are in, and have molecules that can move freely.
STEP 2:
After talking about liquids, take out some ice cream. At this point discuss solids and their properties and while taking two scoops and put them into the cups of root beer.
STEP 3:
The students should easily able to see how adding the ice cream made the carbonation in the root beer fizz, which they concluded was a gas.
